CONFIRMED: Eight teams for ICC Champions Trophy 2017

The International Cricket Council has revealed the names of eight teams, who will be participating in the Champions Trophy 2017.

Australia, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Pakistan are the eight teams that have been confirmed by the ICC based on their current ODI rankings.
Unfortunately - West Indies, who won the title back in 2004 defeating England - did not make into the list after Pakistan pipped them to eighth place.


While, Bangladesh returns to the event for the first time since 2006 after replacing the Caribbeans to the 7th spot in the ICC ODI Rankings.

The ICC Champions Trophy tournament will be hosted by ECB from the June 1 to 18, 2017.

England Squad for three Test match series against Pakistan

Nottinghamshire all-rounder Samit Patel has been included for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan starting from October 13 in the United Arab Emirates.

The 30-year-old will replace uncapped Surrey all-rounder Zafar Ansari, who was unfit for the UAE test match series because of a hand injury.

Patel who made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2012 - has scored 109 runs with four wickets in his five Test match career.
The 1st of the three Test matches gets underway on October 13 in Abu Dhabi.
